Is Jason Coming Back to General Hospital?

‘General Hospital’s’ veteran actor, who had played Jason Morgan for years, departed the program in 2021 due to his noncompliance with COVID-19 requirements.

The gangster who lives in “General Hospital” has returned. On Monday, Steve Burton made an announcement on Instagram about his comeback as Jason Morgan.

“This is the day! “Are you ready?” he wrote as the title of a video showing his first performance back on the ABC soap drama set.

Burton, 53, played Morgan intermittently between 1991 and 2021, a 30-year span. Throughout Burton’s run, Morgan has been portrayed as a criminal with ties to the mob despite the fact that the character first debuted more than 40 years earlier.

Burton’s lengthy tenure on “General Hospital” ended in 2021 due to COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

At the time, Burton posted on Instagram that he was fired for failing to get the COVID-19 immunization required by the production.

An individual who is aware of the circumstances but is not permitted to comment publicly on them confirmed Burton’s resignation to USA TODAY.

Jason’s Character is prepared to return to General Hospital!

The 53-year-old veteran soap actor uploaded a video to the Daily Drama’s YouTube account on Monday, giving fans a sneak peek at his return to the ABC show’s set. He also hinted at what fans can expect from his big comeback.

The crazy thing is that I’m back on the set! “We’re currently preparing to shoot,” he said. One day after announcing his departure from Days of Our Lives, Steve Burton announces his return to General Hospital.

“All right, pay attention. Then he teased, “I got to talk to the head writers; this story will be sick.” It’s going to be fantastic. So, make sure you keep watching because the puzzle parts will be fit for when I return.

From 1991 until his departure in 2012 from General Hospital, Burton portrayed Jason Morgan. After all, he returned to the daytime series in 2017, but his unwillingness to receive the COVID-19 vaccine cost him his job in 2021.

In an Instagram video, Burton stated, “I wanted you to hear it from me personally.” “Unfortunately, the vaccination requirement caused General Hospital to fire me.

I did request exemptions for religion and health, but I was turned down for both, which hurts, you know.

To me, though, this also has to do with personal freedom. In my opinion, nobody should lose their job because of this.”

After thanking his fans and co-stars, Burton said, “I will always appreciate my time at General Hospital. There, I adore myself. That’s where I grew up. Some of you were in my childhood.”
