Details About Steve Burton in General Hospital
The actor confirmed that he will be returning to General Hospital at ABC’s primetime special General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars & Storytelling, one day after announcing his departure from Days of Our Lives.
In a prerecorded clip, Kelly Monaco (Sam) and Laura Wright (Carly) assisted in announcing his reappearance in the last moments of the event.
Wright remarked, “You know what they say: When one door closes, another one opens.” Monaco concurred.
After that, they focused on the door separating them, watching as Burton announced to the camera, “Stay tuned—big things are coming to Port Charles.”

Why Steve Burton left General Hospital

Several cast members and crew were fired from the show after the vaccination compulsion was implemented, including Burton and Ingo Rademacher (Jasper “Jax” Jacks), who later sued ABC, claiming the demand was “blatantly unlawful.
” According to The Hollywood Reporter, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephen Goorvitch supported ABC in Rademacher’s lawsuit in June 2023.
The majority of Disney programs abandoned the vaccination requirement in November 2022, a year later.
Later, in November 2021, Burton posted a video on his Instagram page announcing his departure. “I am aware that there have been several rumors and conjectures regarding General Hospital and me.
