He and Evelyn Killebrew split three years after their first marriage in 1948—without having children. He wed Betty Jean Harris, a LaWanda Page dancer, in 1956.
During their marriage, John adopted 1957-born Debraca Denis, Betty’s daughter from a past relationship. The turbulent tale came to an end after 19 years when John’s adultery destroyed their marriage.
Foxx wed Joi Yun Chi Chung in the Thunderbird Hotel in Las Vegas on December 31, 1976. After their celebration, marital conflict caused their marriage to fall apart, which led both of them to seek divorce.
