Years after leaving the original series, fans will finally see their beloved characters, Anthony DiNozzo and Ziva David, again in their own NCIS spinoff series. What caused Ziva to quit NCIS in the first place, and how has her personality changed over time?

In a 2013 interview with TVGuide, Cote was evasive when discussing the reasons behind her departure from NCIS. “My choice to depart is a private matter, and I would prefer to keep it that way,” she stated.

“I didn’t give much thought for a long while. It was an extremely difficult and occasionally terrifying experience. Oh no.

Although the network said at the time that it had nothing to do with money, the outlet suggested Cote was prevented from staying by some “impasse”.

Nonetheless, Cote praised the trip and even expressed interest in returning. She remarked, “Ziva doesn’t die, which is the best thing about this last episode.” “A character can always reappear as long as they don’t die.”

What Does Ziva Do Now

Since leaving NCIS, Cote has been very busy. Her most significant role to date was playing Jessica in the movie The 33, inspired by the true story of the 33 miners imprisoned in Chile for 69 days. She also starred in the 2016 television film Prototype, and in 2019, she will work on a project called Seneca.
