About Carl Azuz’s Absence From CNN

Typically, middle and high school teachers assemble their students around a screen to watch a 10-minute news program during history class.

A New Jersey history teacher CherylAnne Amendola describes Azuz as a “classroom staple” for her students. “It’s similar to having a father figure teach you. or Mr. Rogers,” she said. His departure extremely saddened them. We were genuinely concerned that he had suffered some harm.”

Before the show’s summer hiatus, Azuz last shot an episode for CNN 10 in May. On September 18, 2022, CNN declared his departure in a statement released in the program’s newsletter.

Azuz stated that he is astonished by the support he has received from younger viewers. “The response has amazed me,” he remarked. “It completely amazed me.”

The fans on TikTok treated Azuz with contempt, talking about the anchor and former NFL player Coy Wire like they were bitter ex-girlfriends. There are countless tributes on social media to Azuz, including joke comments, a plant with a cutout of his face attached to it, and a light-up headgear that proclaims his mantra, “Fridays are awesome.”

Like he’s a pop star, Azuz has even had fan cams posted by TikTokers. A 17-year-old Pennsylvanian posted on TikTok that watching Azuz’s show was one of the highlights of Dallas Bender’s day in middle school.

He remarked, “Carl was always an inspiration to me.” “I began to admire Carl because he was hilarious and brightened daily.” I continued to watch CNN 10 in high school to see what topics he would cover.

Two days after graduating from college 23 years ago, Azuz began working for CNN. In 2008, after working for a few years as a writer and producer, he became the anchor of CNN 10 (then known as CNN Student News).

His coworkers jokingly dubbed him “Justin Bieber” since he became so well-known during building tours in Atlanta as the show expanded and went online over time.

What is Azuz Up To Now?

Azuz is going to stay on staff at CNN and will keep making contributions to the newsroom. He will, however, step down from his position as CNN 10 anchor.

Carl Azuz, however, chose to depart the company at his discretion. Coy Wire will take over as anchor of CNN 10, a ten-minute digital news program accessible to homeschoolers, educators, parents, and students. Wire has hosted the show for many years.
