Both Doherty and her co-star Holly Marie Combs have been very forthcoming in discussing the events leading up to their departure from the hit series in interviews and podcasts.
On the “Let’s Be Clear ” podcast (via Huff Post), Shannen Doherty and Hollie Marie Combs disclosed that Doherty’s firing from “Charmed” was the result of an alleged ultimatum given by their co-star Alyssa Milano to the producers.
When one of the actors fought with her, Milano allegedly threatened to sue the producers of “Charmed” for creating a hostile work environment.

Details About Shannen Doherty Exit from Charmed
Speaking on Shannen’s Let’s Be Clear podcast, Holly recounted discussing why her friend had been fired in a meeting with a producer from Charmed.
Holly emotionally shared, “He said, ‘We’ve been backed into this corner.’ We’re essentially in this situation where it’s either one or the other,” he stated.
“It’s her or me” and “Alyssa has threatened to sue us for creating a hostile work environment” were the heart-wrenching statements made to us.” Holly added that she could not recall “on-set brawls” or “harsh words.”
Shannen clarified, “I don’t recall ever being mean to her on set.” I recall directing an episode when she did something over the Christmas break, and they wanted me to straighten things out with her. I was fine with it. I really couldn’t have been more understanding and nice.”
Recall that Alyssa revealed on Charmed in 2021 that she and Shannen had a tense relationship, adding, “I could take responsibility for a lot of our tension.” Rather than being about sisterhood, the show was so much about a big part of our difficulty that sprang from my sense of rivalry. And I feel a little bad about my involvement in that.”
